3/13/2008 Algebra 1 - Simplifying Square Roots

In class today, we continued our work with square roots. In today's lesson, students learned how to simplify square roots. You can get some more practice here.  In addition, students were also introduced to the idea of a falling object and how to graph a quadratic function.

3/13/2008 Pre Algebra - Percent Increase or Decrease

Today students continued working with percents, dealing with percent increase and decrease.  Also, for the past week and until the last week of April, I have a student teacher, Mr. Pratt, teaching my afternoon classes.

3/13/2008 Applied Geometry - Changing Dimensions/Changing Area

Today we worked on how changing one or more of the dimensions in a rectangle, circle, parallelogram, triangle or trapezoid affects the area and perimeter of the figure. Students took notes over some example problems that we did together in class, then did some practice from the book. Click here for some additional info.
