10/30/2007 Pre Algebra-Solving Inequalities

Today we worked on solving inequalities using multiplication and division. When solving, if you multiply or divide by a negative number, then you must flip the inequality. For example, the solution to -3x ≤ 6 is x ≥ -2.

10/30/2007 Algebra 1-Slope Intercept Form

Today we continued our study of equations and graphs. Our focus today was on slope-intercept form.

y = mx + b

Our objectives are:
1) Solve an equation for y
2) Find the slope and y-int of an equation in y=mx+b form
3) Graph an equation using slope and y-intercept

10/30/2007 Applied Geometry-Bisectors in Triangles

We continued our study in Chapter 5 today. Students copied notes with the theoerems, definitions and examples from section 2 today. We went through the definitions of circumcenter and incenter of a triangle and applied them to some problems that required us to find segment lengths. See some demonstrations here.
