8/29/2007 Pre Algebra-Comparing & Ordering Integers

Students began class by doing some work from the book reviewing order of operations. That and the worksheet due for today were graded in class. Students then took notes over section 4, dealing with ordering integers on the number line, absolute values and opposites. They are responsible for completing the worksheet p. 33 for next time.

8/29/2007 Algebra 1-Order of Operations

We began class with some notes over example problems illustrating our focus today, the order of operations. Our objectives are as follows:

1) List the order of operations to evaluate an expression with more than one operation.
2) Evaluate expressions without grouping symbols
3) Evaluate expressions with grouping symbols
4) Explain the difference between expressions based on order of operations

We graded the homework that was due for today as well as a worksheet that students completed in class over today's lesson.
