3/6 Pre Algebra - Rational and Irrational Numbers

Students were introduced to the idea of rational and irrational numbers today. We have been working with irrational numbers in this chapter, and now we are providing the definition. Students will be classifying numbers as rational or irrational and comparing and ordering rational and irrational numbers. See some examples here.

Homework:
worksheets page 32 & 33 #'s 1-18 on both (turned in today in class)

I also extended the extra credit deadline. The solution (and work) to this problem may be turned in by Thursday for extra credit.

3/6 Applied Geometry - Changing dimensions/Changing Area

Today we worked on how changing one or more of the dimensions in a rectangle, circle, parallelogram, triangle or trapezoid affects the area and perimeter of the figure. Students took notes over some example problems that we did together in class, then completed some worksheets for the assignment. Click here for some additional info.
