We started today's class with a review of solving equations. It is a worksheet where students give the step by step process to solving equations. After that, I took questions on the homework due for today and we graded it.
Next students got into groups and worked on solving equations from today's lesson. Today's objective is to solve equations with variables on both sides of the equation. In groups they completed a worksheet that illustrates the solving process visually with algebra tiles.
Next, they practiced the new skill with worksheet, which we went through as a class when everyone was finished.
