10/18/06 Applied Geometry

We continued our discussion of triangles today, focusing on isosceles and equilateral triangles. Our two main points today are:

If two sides of a triangle are congruent to one another, then the angles opposite the sides are congruent to one another as well, and vice versa. (Show at left).

An equilateral triangle is equiangular, and vice versa.

We practiced using these ideas to solve for angles and sides on a worksheet, then students completed a graded assignment.

Homework:
p. 276 #'s 3-10,13-20, 22-25, 33-34, 42-43
